What is a "mud dauber"?

A mud dauber is a solitary wasp that constructs its nest using mud or clay. It gathers mud from moist areas and shapes it into tube-like structures, creating individual cells where it lays its eggs. Mud daubers are known for their distinctive long, slender bodies and are commonly found near homes and buildings. They are not aggressive towards humans and primarily feed on nectar and insects.
